The Partners


Hugh Short
Our senior partner Hugh Short has practised as a Solicitor since 1975 and joined the firm in 1980 as a partner. Hugh has guided the firm through its expansion from a two partner firm to six partners. In 1996 Hugh established the firm's hugely successful Property Link shop which now has a significant share of the Fife property market. Hugh's areas of expertise are in commercial property work, conveyancing and general business advice.

Caroline Flanagan
Caroline Flanagan has practised as a solicitor since 1983 and joined the firm in 1988. Caroline has been a partner with Ross & Connel since 1990. She deals in Court work and specialises in Family Law. She is accredited by The Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Family Law. Caroline is also an ex-Dean of the Faculty of Solicitors in Dunfermline and was President of The Law Society of Scotland in the year 2005/2006.

Edward Christie
Edward Christie has practised as a solicitor since 1988 and has been a partner in the firm's Court Department since 1993. Edward mainly specialises in personal injury, debt recovery and commercial court work, Edward also retains an interest in Family Law and Criminal court work.

Alastair Bracken
Alastair Bracken has practised as a solicitor since 1992 and he joined the firm in 1997 and has been a partner since 1999. Alastair's main areas of expertise are in commercial property work and general business law advice. Alastair is particularly interested in all aspects of commercial leasing work including acting for Landlords or Tenants in relation to the negotiation of new leases, rent reviews, disputes regarding repairing obligations and dilapidations, disposal of leases and subletting.
